A 12 minute drive from le vitrier brings you to the busy market town of Tournon sur Rhone with shops, restaurants 5^th century chateau and museum and tourist attractions.  A little further will bring you to the larger towns of Valence and Romans sur Isere (famous for its shoe manufacturing and shops).  A train ride or drive will also take you to the provencal towns of Orange and Avignon for a day trip ( http://www.ter-sncf.com/Rhone_Alpes local station Tain l’Hermitage).

We can also offer advice on local walks on a number of grande randonées (one at the end of our drive) cylcle hire; days out into hill towns or vineyards; a family swim in the river doux or a trip on the local steam train to the lovely hill village of Lamastre.  Ample information leaflets are available in the gite to stimulate ideas and interests.

Dining out

We can recommend local restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets including 4 Michelin starred restaurants within easy distance. Or why not buy locally grown produce at one of our village markets and eat al fresco under cherry trees in the garden to the sound of crickets!  The gite kitchen is well equipped for the most expert of cooks and a gas barbecue is provided in the adjacent garden area.
